NXT 352

August 31, 2016 – Winter Park, Florida

The show starts with the news that Joe’s jaw was dislocated in his match with Nakamura and that he hadn’t disclosed a few other injuries. So he’s out of action.

Tye Dillinger def. Buddy Murphy
So I guess the idea here is that Murphy and Wesley Blake are going to be jobbing to the same guys every month. The running gag in which Corey Graves runs down all the unlucky stuff that has happened to Murphy recently is finally starting to get funny. This was just a skosh better than the match against Blake. **¾

Johnny Gargano got a little injured in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament and lost in the second round. Ciampa starts giving an update on his condition when he’s attacked by the Revival.

Steve Cutler def. Kenneth Crawford
After 14 jobs on TV, they finally found a bigger loser than Cutler for him to beat. Oddly enough, these two guys wrestled each other in a tag match on a current (2018) episode of NXT that I watched this week. I don’t review squashes, especially those between two jobbers doing nothing of note. N/A

SAnitY is coming.

No Way Jose def. Angelo Dawkins
This was nothing. Just change Crawford’s name and put him with Dawkins already because these guys need something to do. *

Austin Aries interrupts an Andrade Cien Almas interview, but since Almas doesn’t really speak English I’m not sure what was supposed to happen there. They’ll fight next week. That could be pretty good.

Liv Morgan def. Aliyah
This was quite bad, but on the bright side I really like Morgan’s who shtick. Hopefully she’ll get the hang of this wrestling thing soon. I have no hope for Aliyah. ½*

Throughout the show they showed highlights from Shinsuke Nakamura’s career so far, but they skipped the match against Aries which was the best so far. He comes out to the ring to celebrate his title win. Nobody interrupts, and Nakamura says nothing of note, making this one of the most unremarkable episodes of this show ever.
