NXT 34

October 12, 2010 – Portland, Oregon

The show starts with a name that tune contest. AJ wins.

Alicia Fox def. Naomi
This was fine, just fine, which is really good by this show’s standards. **

During a promo contest, Naomi calls out Michael Cole for being a shit. AJ puts out a personal ad. Kaitlyn rips on Vickie Guerrero. Aksana makes an appeal to not be deported. Maxine threatens (or hits on) Hornswoggle for throwing a pie in her face last week (which happened but I didn’t think that’d come back up so I didn’t write anything about it). She also craps on Kaitlyn, calling her a homewrecker for going after Dolph Ziggler.

Meanwhile, Husky Harris & Michael McGillicutty are now heels on Raw, joining Nexus.

Guerrero and Kaitlyn sort of make up, but Guerrero warns Kaitlyn to stay away from Ziggler.

Next up is that weird punching challenge that’s probably rigged. Naomi wins, by a lot.

AJ def. Aksana
This is all story over substance, as Aksana spends the match freaking out that she’s going to be deported and then AJ wins with a roll up. With better wrestlers, there’s a good story to be told in a match about the dangers of undue stress. Here, it was inoffensive but also uninteresting. After the match, Goldust proposes so that Aksana can stay in the country. Called it. Michael Cole is actually excited about it. *
