Noam Dar def. Kenny Williams {Heritage Cup Rules Semifinal Match}
Heel vs. heel could be interesting with this match gimmick. Both guys hit a cheap shot after the first round ends. In the second round, Williams faked a leg injury. Dar knew it was fake but the referee didn’t, and a dancing Williams was able to use the commotion to get a roll up with a handful of tights to win the first fall at 2:24 of the round. Dar retakes control in the third round, but Williams is able to tough it out through a Champagne Super Kneebar until the round ends. Both guys cheat a lot in the fourth round, but Dar does it better and then catches Williams in the CSK again to tie the match at 1:27 of the round. The fifth round moves quickly, until Sha Samuels appears from under the ring to distract Williams. Dar hits the Nova Roller for the win at 2:28 of the round. They made it work! I just realized that unless Wolfgang wins the other semi (unlikely), it’s likely to be heel vs. heel again with Teoman in the finals. I think a Dar babyface turn is coming. ***¼

Ilja Dragunov checks in with a remote promo about becoming the champion. He wants to know who will challenge him for the title. Nathan Frazer shows up in person to ask for the shot. Rampage Brown and A-Kid come out and make cases for themselves. Frazer really doesn’t have a case, which makes me wish the upcoming contender match was just between A-Kid and Brown. But it’ll be a three way, which is fine too. Not great, but fine. Brown beats up the other two before leaving.

Isla Dawn has vandalized Jinny’s dressing room. Then, Mustache Mountain say they want to face the winner of tonight’s main event. Later, Wolfgang cuts a rather entertaining promo on Teoman (I kinda wish he was just the Coffeys’ hype man at this point), and a soon-to-debut Charlie Dempsey gets a hype video. Dempsey is Williams Regal’s son, and he’s wrestled on NXT UK before

Emilia McKenzie def. Stevie Turner
This was perfectly fine, probably better than your average NXT UK women’s match. McKenzie made sure the pace and intensity kept things interesting. I’m not seeing what sets Turner apart, but given that the baseline for this division is Dawn and Nina Samuels, Turner is a step up. McKenzie hit a double knee strike for the win at 5:20. Blair Davenport violated her suspension and attacked Turner after the match to send a message to Sid Scala. So it’s just a storyline and had nothing to do with COVID. That’s good. **½

Lewis Howley & Sam Stoker def. Joe Coffey & Mark Coffey {NXT UK Tag Team Championship Match}
The referee calls for the bell while all four guys are still in the ring. What a doofus. Y’all, this is a four-star match. It was so much more intense, engaging, and well-paced than the match that saw Pretty Deadly win the tag titles. The Coffeys are just a more interesting team than Mark & Wolfgang. But also, the champs have come into their own as a legitimately great tag team. It didn’t hurt that Nigel McGuinness was channelling Royal Rumble ‘92 Bobby Heenan in his praise and deference for Howley. Stoker is also good, but Howley could be NXT UK Champion tomorrow and I wouldn’t bat an eye. After a crazy second half that saw the challengers pull out all the stops and the champs desperately cling to their titles, Pretty Deadly hit Spilled Milk on Mark for the win at 14:23. ****
