NXT 419

November 8, 2017 – Winter Park, Florida

Otis Dozovic & Tucker Knight def. Chris Payne & Sean Maluta
I don’t review squashes, but it’s important for you to know that Dozovic does the worm here, which is what got him a job in WWE in the first place (he did it on Breaking Ground to show he had personality). N/A

Kairi Sane def. Billie Kay
On the plus side, Sane really rolled over Kay. On the down side, Kay wrestled a typical Kay match. **¼

Kassius Ohno asks William Regal if he can wrestle Lars Sullivan at Takeover so that he can prove he deserves to be in title contention. Regal has no problem with that.

They show a nice video package to introduce War Games to the uninitiated, but keep the actual details about the match vague enough that when NXT changes them nobody will notice.

Velveteen Dream def. Cezar Bononi
I don’t review squashes. N/A

Ruby Riott is out with an ankle injury for a few weeks. Sonya Deville thinks it was cowardly that Riott didn’t tap in their match and got her ankle sprained when she dragged herself out of the ring instead. That makes no sense, and Deville has no personality whatsoever. They’ll fight again when Riott is healed.

There’s another Street Profits segment, during which Tino Sabbatelli’s dry cleaning is delivered. Montez Ford tries to steal it but Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss pop up and with “our suit” back. Why is nobody calling out that they share all their things?!

Roderick Strong def. Adam Cole
Strong won this one by disqualification when reDRagon came in and attacked him. The finishes in the main events have been trash lately. This was alright, though I think they were holding back a little knowing that they weren’t going to get a ton of time or a finish. The Authors of Pain and SAnitY come out and everyone brawls. Would it have been the end of the world for Strong to lay down here? It’d be fine to cool him off a bit after his main event run. The crowd is pretty quiet for the show ending brawl, probably because this story has nowhere to go until War Games so everything is at an annoying stand-still. ***
