NXT 219

May 1, 2014 – Winter Park, Florida

Triple H comes out to brag about NXT and announce the next live NXT special, Takeover.

Tyson Kidd def. Bo Dallas
Dallas has new, motivational entrance music, just in time to hand his spot in NXT to Kidd. The match was pretty fun, and nice to see a match with some weight outside the main event slot. The crowd reacts loudly to Dallas now that they know he’s leaving the show, which is kind of rude but makes for a good energy in his matches. ***¼

Sasha Banks def. Bayley [Quarterfinal Match]
It was definitely the right move to give Banks the win here, as a fourth loss to Bayley would have her even more dead in the water than she already is. This was also the first good match the two have had, and that was as much thanks to Banks pulling her own weight as it was to Bayley being really fun to watch. ***

Adam Rose def. Danny Burch
Rose already defeated Burch, so even the writers are bored enough of this character that they’ve stopped paying attention to what he’s done. N/A

Natalya def. Layla [Quarterfinal Match]
It seems Layla is with Fandango now, and is replacing Summer Rae in NXT as well while Rae makes a movie. The match wasn’t much of anything. *

Mojo Rawley def. Oliver Gray
It’s becoming clear that Rawley doesn’t do more than he does because he doesn’t know how to do more or just can’t do more than he does. Aiden English comes out after the match to start a feud I don’t want to see. N/A

Adrian Neville def. Brodus Clay [NXT Championship Match]
Neville bares his new teeth at Clay before the match because he’s awesome. The match was cute. They kept it really simple and relatively short, Clay didn’t waste any time with a nerve hold, and like their first face-to-face meeting the whole thing made Neville look like a seriously tough dude. ***
