Paige def. Sasha Banks
Tensai gets renamed Jason Albert on commentary. What’s wrong with Matt Bloom? This match was alright. I’m actually pretty much out on Paige, who takes forever to set up her submission finisher and looks for crowd support at all the wrong times. The BFF tries to attack after the match but Natalya makes the save. **
Konnor & Viktor def. Travis Tyler & Cal Bishop
Is the idea right now that WWE thinks that there are so many new WWE Network subscribers that we need to see squashes from everyone all over again? Because we get the picture with the Ascension. N/A
Mason Ryan def. Wesley Blake
See the above, but replace “the Ascension” with “Ryan.” N/A
Alexander Rusev def. Xavier Woods
Tyler Breeze was also attacked by Rusev at Arrival, so he demands that Woods allow him to take his spot in the match. Woods refuses so Breeze attacks him. Woods put up a fun little fight here, and like Emma and Charlotte last week, I want to see a real blow off match between these two now. But Woods is 0-3 against Rusev now so I’m not sure there’s much left here. **¼
Bo Dallas def. Colin Cassady
They’ve done a great job, through sporadic appearances and tight booking, of making Dallas feel matches feel like a big deal in NXT. Okay, that’s the positive, now here’s the negative. Cass has basically been a jobber to this point, losing matches to Aiden English in less than half the time it took Dallas to put him away. Beyond that, it’s pretty hard to make a seven-footer feel like an underdog, and they didn’t accomplish it here. So if the babyface isn’t going to be a believable underdog, then the point of this match should have been Dallas dominating a seven-footer to look strong going into his rematch with Adrian Neville. They didn’t do that either, as it took Dallas longer to finish Cass than it’s taken anyone else. Long story short, this was a really mismanaged main event. The action was fine, but the story was totally counterproductive. *½
