NXT 213

March 20, 2014 – Winter Park, Florida

Mojo Rawley def. Bull Dempsey
Mojo is basically what would happen if Michael Rapaport was a wrestler. His buddy Gronk is in the crowd. What exactly is exciting for people about Rawley? His offense is all tackles and butt bumps. Maybe if you’re into football it’s fun for you that his famous football friends are in the crowd. He’s got an Arrival rematch with CJ Parker coming up that I can’t imagine anyone ever asked for. This was pretty much a squash and I won’t respond to it. N/A

Sami Zayn nc. Tyler Breeze
Zombie Graves attacks Zayn before the match so the whole thing never happens. The attack wasn’t particularly vicious and kind of makes Zayn looks like a loser.

Adam Rose def. Camacho
New Adam Rose entourage sightings: Becky Lynch, Carmella and possibly Dana Brooke. There’s not much to Rose outside of the entrance, as this milquetoast match showed. *

Bayley def. Sasha Banks
Isn’t the point of this to get to Bayley vs. Charlotte? Or are we just supposed to forget that it was Charlotte who turned on Bayley to start this neverending. directionless storyline. Bright side: Bayley has pretty much ditched her fangirl gimmick and is now fully trolling Banks and it’s so much better. Banks stomps on Bayley’s hand at one point in the match, which would become super important about a year later. But back to my original point, I’m not sure how they can expect us to care about a feud in which the babyfaces win 9 times out of 10 but Bayley never gets (or seems interested in) revenge against the woman who actually wronged her. **

Sheamus def. Aiden English
The setup for this match was particularly flimsy, as Sheamus was offended by English in a backstage segment after the latter approached the former for no reason that I can ascertain. Then they redo the segment in the ring and the crowd is more on English’s side than they were probably meant to be. This didn’t amount to much, and was pretty much in the mold of English’s main event against RVD. English’s status as king jobber has pretty much been cemented. **½
