NXT 211

March 6, 2014 – Winter Park, Florida

Woah, the show has a totally different look now. Not the actual ring or entrance or anything like that, but the opening titles and the interstitial graphics are looking much better.

Adrian Neville def. Camacho
What even is Camacho at this point? He got squishy for Neville to start the Brit’s title reign. After the match he cuts a cute, self-deprecating promo that the crowd really enjoys. He also craps on Bo Dallas, which is always a crowd-pleaser. That brings out Dallas, to remind Neville that he won by climbing a ladder not pinning his shoulders, and he’ll be cashing in his rematch soon enough. N/A

Charlotte def. Emma
This was set up when Charlotte and Ric Flair condescend to Emma backstage after her loss to Paige at Arrival. They also hazed Paige and that segment was super fucking weird. Paige is awful in these backstage segments and Charlotte isn’t good on the mic yet. They kept this match short, having Charlotte fake an injury before hitting her finisher for the win. It was going along really well before that, so I’m hoping we get a longer match between them soon. **

Corey Graves def. Yoshi Tatsu
We’re almost done with the ballad of Zombie Graves. He spends more time complaining about Sami Zayn’s repeated losses to Antonio Cesaro and subsequent chances to be featured in NXT than he does beating Tatsu, which he does very quickly by countout. And then he beats up Tatsu until Zayn makes the save. They’ll fight later tonight. N/A

Xavier Woods got punked out by Alexander Rusev at Arrival, and between that and his two losses, he wants another match.

Adam Rose def. Wesley Blake
Despite being off TV for only two months, Leo Kruger is now Adam Rose, and he’s the center of a rave and his bodyguard is an as-yet-named Brodus Clay and Simon Gotch is there too dressed like Waldo. So, that’s happening and the crowd loves it. I’ll give him a lot of points for totally changing up his style for the new gimmick, and I’ll give the Mick Jagger thing a shot. N/A

Sami Zayn def. Corey Graves
William Regal is incredible on commentary here, creating intrigue for this match while tying the motivations of these guys into the title feud between Neville and Dallas. This was a lot more entertaining than Graves typically has been in the past. They had me believing that Graves might catch Zayn with the Lucky 13 and tap him, and I was happy to see Zayn get a win. ***¼
