NXT 86

October 12, 2011 – Dallas, Texas

Derrick Bateman and Maxine come out to heel it up. They’re interrupted by Percy Watson & Titus O’Neil. Watson says there are two rookies on NXT, ignoring Darren Young (who was recently suspended). O’Neil actually brings up his Redemption Points. This is insane to watch, knowing that everyone in the ring knows that nothing they say really matters. Matt Striker comes out and responds to Maxine despite the fact that she hasn’t said a word since O’Neil and Watson came out. That makes me think there was either a bad edit or that Striker is working off of a script that didn’t get used. Either way the thing ends with Bateman vs. Watson and Maxine vs. AJ (again) being booked.

AJ def. Maxine
You’d think these two would be able to have a good match by virtue of repetition. You’d be totally wrong. *

Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso def. Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins
Doubling the amount of time that this match got last week was not the answer to getting a better performance out of these guys. It wasn’t bad, but it was long and monotonous. **

Percy Watson def. Derrick Bateman
This was bad, FCW-style trash. Watson spun the wrong way on a neckbreaker… in a WWE ring on a WWE broadcast. What a load of garbage. ¾*
