WWE ECW 191

February 2, 2010 – Memphis, Tennessee

The Abraham Washington Show starts the episode with Christian as its guest. He’s the longest currently reigning champion in WWE. Zack Ryder interrupts to talk about Gregory Helms getting arrested. This seems like a weird thing to broadcast on the show. Christian thinks Ryder is jealous that Helms got on TMZ for the arrest. They get into a little scuffle which leads to a match later on.

Vance Archer def. Shelton Benjamin
Wow, Archer was just terrible. This was boring and then it was sloppy and then Archer totally botched the finish. He eventually won by pinning Benjamin with his feet on the ropes at 6:12 (shown). ¼*

Yoshi Tatsu def. Trent Barreta
Not much happening in this one. Barreta held a chinlock for longer than you like in a four-minute match. Tatsu hit the Saikyou High Kick out of nowhere for the win at 3:56. *¾

Vince McMahon comes out for a chat. He announces that ECW will be going off the air in three weeks. He’s airing a new show in its place. And that’s it. He doesn’t say what the show is, he didn’t particularly heel it up in announcing the cancellation of ECW, he barely says or does anything. What a load.

Gregory Helms interviews Ezekiel Jackson in the ring as if the opening of the show wasn’t about his mugshot. William Regal brings it up and then he and Jackson beat up Helms. Christian makes the save with a kendo stick, and that leads into the main event.

Christian nc. Zack Ryder
This was actually really entertaining until Jackson ran back in and spoiled the thing at 5:28. I’m surprised they put in the effort given the finish. Jackson beats up Christian some more after the fact. **¼
