NXT UK 164

September 2, 2021 – Newham, London

Blair Davenport vs. Nina Samuels never happens because Davenport beat up Samuels before the bell and then also beat up Sid Scala when he came to try to maintain order.

Aiofe Valkyrie got injured last week in her match against Jinny and will be out for some time. Jinny claims Valkyrie had only a pyrrhic victory, so I guess the feud will continue. Then, we learn that Saxon Huxley gets to pick two partners to fight Symbiosis next week. Later, we find out he’ll be joined by Oliver Carter & Ashton Smith. They might accidentally get Huxley over with this comedy stuff.

Jack Starz & Dave Mastiff def. Dan Moloney & Andy Wild
This was super squishy, and ended with Mastiff squishing Maloney with Into the Void at 5:48. N/A

The Coffey brothers dump Lewis Howley in a fountain and make it known that they’re coming for the tag titles. I’m not mad about Wolfgang being out of the title picture. Then, they announce that the Takeover UK title match will play on next week’s episode of NXT UK, seemingly with commentary from the wrestlers and others.

Emilia McKenzie def. Amale
McKenzie basically spent the whole match bumping around like crazy for Amale before catching her with a roll up for the win at 6:44. If this is just how the story of her rise begins, I’m into it. If this is indicative of her place in the pecking order unchanging going forward, no thank you. **

Teoman def. Nathan Frazer {Heritage Cup Rules Quarterfinal Match}
Round one is pretty even, though Frazer ends it with a big dropkick. Teoman uses a distraction from Rohan Raja to take control of the second round and win it at 1:06 with the Sliding D. Frazer started making a comeback in the third round but the time limit expired before he could get a pin. At 1:50 of round four, Frazer hit a snap small package to win a point. Frazer was on a tear in the fifth round, but he got distracted up top by Raja and ate shit going for a dive. Teoman hit him with a flipping bulldog sorta thing for the win at 2:47 of the round. There was some cool stuff in here but it didn’t come together into anything special. That’s a risk you run in Heritage matches. **¾
