Trent Seven def. Kona Reeves
Last night, Ricochet dropkicked Kona Reeves so hard in Florida that he had to leave the country. The crowd destroys him during a pre-match promo. I believe this is the most a crowd has ever reacted to one of his matches. It was a really fun, spirited sprint. Reeves might just be getting a little better. I don’t like that he kicked out of the Seven Star Lariat, but I guess they’re doubling down on the Birminghammer being Seven’s finisher. He hit it at 3:24. Eddie Dennis appears in the crowd after the match, grabbing Seven’s hand and shooting him a sinister smile. **¾

Alexander Wolfe, it turns out, helped train Dragunov in Dresden. Dragunov will show him tonight that he is the master of his own future and will step out of Wolfe’s shadow. I like this feud very much thank you.

A-Kid def. Jack Starz
The commentators frames this as a breakout opportunity for both guys, trying to shift Starz into non-jobber territory. They certainly wrestled in that spirit. As it was a competitive match that spent a lot of time on the mat. Sadly, it didn’t last long, and A-Kid picked up the win at 4:08 with the Rings of Saturn. **¾

Jinny & Jazzy Gabert still don’t like Rhea Ripley & Piper Niven. Jinny insists that Niven go through her if she wants a shot at Kay Lee Ray’s title because she wasn’t pinned in their tag match. Gabert shoots her a glare at that comment. Niven and Jinny fight next week. Later, Jordan Devlin gives a highlight reel presentation made up entirely of his own clips. He rips on A-Kid and Tyler Bate, so we’re finally getting back to that feud. Thanks for attending his Ted Talk. Who doesn’t like memes?

The Grizzled Young Veterans come out for a chat. The commentators can’t decide whether or not their match from a couple weeks ago was a contenders match or not. It wasn’t. The GYV want to know how Gallus and Imperium are being punished for interfering in that match. They really should punish folks who interfere somehow. They also want a title shot at Takeover in Blackpool. Zack Gibson is stupid good on the mic. Hot take, I know.

Ridge Holland def. Oliver Carter
Holland is debuting in his hometown here, or near enough to it anyway. They’ve given him a Peaky Blinders gimmick, but I don’t know if that works without Nick Cave doing his entrance music. He moves around like a smaller Brock Lesnar. This was pretty much a squash, and one that was a little too deliberate to get over with this crowd. He won in 4:05 with the Northern Grit, an Emerald Frosion. Carter’s partner Ashton Smith careas for Carter after the match and stares at Holland. Later on in the back, Noam Dar makes fun of Carter, so Smith challenges him for next week. **

Travis Banks and Ligero are mad at Joseph Connors. Connors is pleased with himself. I don’t think anyone cares about this feud.

Alexander Wolfe def. Ilja Dragunov
These two did an incredible job of making this match feel intensely personal. Dragunov fought hard to assert his independence from Wolfe, while Wolfe fought out of spite for having been unable to recruit Dragunov into Imperium. They laid into each other hard, and Wolfe was able at every turn to avoid Dragunov’s offense and punish his former student with his own. Dragunov was stronger, but Wolfe was more savvy. Wolfe also had Imperium, who distracted Dragunov long enough for Wolfe to counter the Torpedo Moskau to a DDT, and then hit a Ligerbomb for the win at 16:44. The Imperium involvement felt tacked on, but everything else was gorgeous. I especially liked the couple of times that Wolfe thought about using weapons, but the decided to embarrass Dragunov by beating him without them. Wolfe is killing it in all of his singles matches. Between this and Dain coming into his own in NXT, it’s brain-melting to think about how much SaniTY sucked. After the match, Gallus saves Dragunov from a beating at the hands of Imperium. ****
