Noam Dar def. Kenny Williams
This match did a lot for Dar, if you ask me. He won by throwing one of Williams’ shoes out of the ring, distracting the referee so that he could hit a low blow and the Nova Roller. That made him look smart. He also looked savvy when he caught Williams trying to skin the cat and put him in an anklelock. Williams also looked good here, maneuvering around the ring like a pro and losing mostly because Dar is just a clever bastard. Really productive match here. ***¼
The Grizzled Young Veterans want new tag team competitors but they don’t to be interrupted when they’re working out. Later, we’re told that Dave Mastiff will respond to Gallus’s threats next week.
Jazzy Gabert, Jinny & Kay Lee Ray def. Piper Niven, Toni Storm & Xia Brookside
Things I liked about this match: KLR avoiding Storm like she has ebola, Gabert and Niven having a big gal battle, Storm looking like an unstoppable force, the fact that they got this awful crowd all fired up, and Gabert & Jinny teaming up to put Brookside down for the finish. There really wasn’t anything I didn’t like. This was pretty much perfect for what it was trying to accomplish and its spot on the card and in the ongoing storylines. This is the best women’s division across all of WWE’s brands. ***½
WALTER def. Trent Seven
WALTER got heat during this match, and that warmed the cockles of my heart. The crowd didn’t just chant for Seven, they didn’t just do the Trent Seven Army chant, but they chanted lines from his promo two weeks ago. I guess they were saving up all their energy for these last two matches of the tapings. It didn’t matter though, because as hard as Seven fought, and he fought as hard as we’ve seen him fight since his tag wars with the Undisputed Era, WALTER was able to absorb it all and give better than he got. The match had a perfect finish; WALTER powerbombed Steven against the apron, just like Imperium did to put Tyler Bate on the shelf. Then Imperium came out and stood guard while WALTER hit Seven with powerbomb after powerbomb until the referee called for the bell because Seven was just a sack of meat. This surpassed my expectations, and worked amazingly as a big boy brawl that Seven just wasn’t able to handle. ****¼
Well, that’s the best episode this show has done yet. That’s especially impressive because the crowd at the Download Festival had been mostly terrible during this taping set. To see them come alive for these final bouts was wild, and the wrestlers they cheered for earned every bit of their energy.
A few days later, Toni Storm defended her title at ICW Shug’s Hoose Party 6, so let’s take a look at that.

Toni Storm def. Piper Niven {NXT UK Women’s Championship Match}
Niven was billed as Viper here, so I guess she only really uses Niven in NXT UK. I was digging this quite a bit, probably just a bit more than their Mae Young Classic match. Storm looked like a dominant champion, only losing momentum when trying to lift Viper for the Storm Zero. Then she changed her strategy and hit piledrivers instead of Tiger Drivers. The first one didn’t get it done, and neither did the second one on the apron. But after kicking out of the Viper Driver (just like she did in the MYC), she was able to hit another for the win. The commentators saying that the piledriver is the Storm Zero was irritating, but then this was only Storm’s third time in ICW I think so maybe they just aren’t avid fans of hers. I was looking to see if this would be a much different style than the kind of match Storm has in NXT UK, but aside from the piledrivers it was laid out pretty much the same. ***½
