Keith Lee def. Fidel Bravo
Bravo is pretty much a young version of Martin Mertens. I don’t review squashes, but it’s important that I point out that one thing that’s great about Lee is that he lets the commentators get his catchphrase (“bask in my glory”) over, and doesn’t say it over and over during his matches like someone else I know.
The next large chunk of the show is a recap of Takeover. You can just read my whole review of that show.
Lars Sullivan def. Keto Murray
I don’t review squashes, and I’m very sad that Sullivan has so few matches left in NXT before he moves on to the Raw roster. After the match, Sullivan demands shot at the NXT Championship. He goes to beat up Murray some more, but Lee runs back out and makes the save with a Pounce. They get into it backstage too, prompting a match being booked between them for next week. N/A
Jesus Cross def. Candice LeRae
These two had a forgotten gem of a triple threat match including Sane over the summer, so I expected big things going into this. LeRae had a weird stare-down with Amsterdam Black after Black’s match against her husband at Takeover that seemed worth mentioning here, since this match is happening because Cross narced out Gargano to Black. This match was shorter and less intense than their meeting in the triple threat, which makes it annoying to me that they nerfed Cross’s finisher here. That said, it ended in an interesting way when LeRae started losing her cool much in the same way her husband has recently, and then losing a match because of it just like her husband as well. **¾
