Trent Seven def. Saxon Huxley
It’s been awhile since we’ve seen the illegitimate love child of Scott Rogowski and Jesus Christ (not to be confused with our lord and savior Jesus Cross). Seven does some fun stuff here, and it’s still wild to see a Burning Hammer in WWE in 2018, but I’m not sold on Huxley in the slightest and this was a little dull for most of it. **¼
Flash Morgan Webster def. Mark Coffey
This was alright I guess. Coffey had to do some extra flipping around to make some of Webster’s armdrags look effective. The commentators freaked out over a headscissors takedown on the floor that actually looked pretty bad. I guess overall my issue is that Webster’s offense didn’t look credible for the most part. It didn’t do all that much for me. The Coffey brothers attack Webster after the match until Mark Andrews and Travis Banks make the save. **
Danny Burch def. Sam Gradwell
In a pre-match video, Gradwell says he’s not about having five-star matches. Welp, that’s a shame for all of us. They worked a different style here than in any other match we’ve seen yet in NXT UK, and I appreciate the hell out of it. It was short, but I dug the faux bare knuckle boxing vibe they were going for. I also love that Burch actually gets to win matches in NXT UK. After the match, he calls out Pete Dunne. Yes… yes please and thank you. **¾
Zack Gibson def. Noam Dar
There’s a cute moment where Dar tries to get his boot off because the crowd takes off their shoes to show how much they hate Gibson. He also tries to take off Gibson’s boot. This kid is fun as a babyface. They’ve really let Dar shine as much as he’s able with really long matches both times out so far. I bought a count out tease for the first time in a long time here, which was followed immediately by a believable tap tease. That was followed by a bit of a dead stretch, which is my only knock on the otherwise incredibly hard-fought match (and a common issue is Gibson’s big matches when he stops the match dead for character stuff). ****
