Jesus Cross def. Taynara Conti
Not bad at all, but really short and mostly just a way to get Cross over as the probably next champion. **
Mercedes Martinez is bad at promos, and she doesn’t think Ember Moon can win the big one. She has been a choke artist consistently.
Fabian Aichner def. Johnny Gargano
This Aichner kid is pretty good! I wonder why his television career stalled after this. This was really fun and had the crowd going crazy. The finish was a bummer, but that was the point, I think. ***¼
There’s a funny promo in which the Street Profits get exposed trying to make their life seem more glamorous than it is by hanging out next to a Maserati and claiming it’s theirs. Then Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss come up because it actually belongs to them. But like, they own it together? That part is weird, and Angelo Dawkins seemed like he was going to call it out but then the whole thing just devolved into nonsense.
Drew McIntyre comes out with the contract for a title match with Andrade Cien Almas, but Almas attacks him from behind during his entrance, beats him up, and throws the signed contract at him. This is how you do a contract signing!
Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe def. Akam & Rezar {NXT Tag Team Championship Match}
Killian Dain is banned from ringside. The Authors of Pain never really turned babyface, so the chants for them are tepid. There wasn’t much to this, although it was picking up a bit down the stretch. That stretch was actually really important, because the AOP were starting to feel like just another tag team before they started dominating near the end. Then the Undisputed Era ran out because no finish here would have worked. That’s really lazy. Dain and Roderick Strong join the brawl, with Strong siding with the AOP over his old ROH buddies. William Regal comes out and makes a match between the three teams for Takeover in WarGames. **¼
