October 25, 2017 – Winter Park, Florida
Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli def. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch
All four guys had a singles loss going into this match. Moss & Sabbatelli have nothing to offer in the ring aside from Vince-bods and cool finisher. I can’t figure out why they’d go over here, but let’s see where it goes, as everything fun in this match was carried by the bald dudes. **½
Jesus Cross def. Vanessa Borne, Bianca Belair, Sage Beckett, Mercedes Martinez, Billie Kay, Lacey Evans, Taynara Conti, Candice LeRae, Sarah Logan, Aliyah, Abbey Laith, Santana Garrett, Zeda, Rhea Ripley, Dakota Kai, and Reina Gonzalez {Battle Royal}
Winner gets the last spot in the Takeover four way for the women’s title. Cross was added to this match last minute because William Regal felt she’d been robbed in her previous qualifying match. Good thing they had the Mae Young Classic so they have a lot of fodder to fill the ring with. Cross gets revenge on Conti early. Bianca Belair was in this and didn’t win, so you might say she was defeated. Cross eliminated a good portion of the women in this match, so she came out of this looking really strong. There were a few good spots here, but a lot of it was inelegantly executed. Split the difference, I guess. **¼
Amsterdam Black comes out for a match, but Velveteen Dream appears from nowhere and attacks him during his entrance. Black still won’t say Dream’s name, and he fights him off.
Andrade Cien Almas def. Roderick Strong
This was going along in a manner that was more or less forgettable, and then something lit a fire under these guys’ tushies and they started dropping bombs on each other. This was also notable as it was the first time Zelina Vega got physically involved in one of Almas’s matches, hitting Strong with a headscissors takedown into the stairs, leading directly to the DDT and pin. ***¼
After the match, Vega and Almas tell McIntyre that Almas will challenge him to his face next week. They leave and the Undisputed Era comes out. They give him an armband and tell him to join them. Strong takes it but doesn’t put it on, and the show fades out without a resolution.
