March 15, 2017 – Orlando, Florida
Akam & Rezar def. Gabriel Ealy & Uriel Ealy
I don’t review squashes, but at least the Ealys got to hear a pair of bell rings. After the match, the Revival come out and claim that they had their last title match won when the Revival interfered and they want a rematch. That brings out the Revival, who also wants a match. William Regal comes out and makes an elimination title match with all three teams at Takeover: Orlando. N/A
Nikki Cross def. Macey Estrella
Oh dear oh dear, who do I root for here? I mean, it was always going to be a squash, but my love for these two (for very different reasons) is hard to parse. Cross hits her finisher on Estrella five times here. No Way Jose and Tye Dillinger attack SAnitY after the match, but the numbers catch up to them. N/A
Tommy End is coming, with the catchphrase “Fade to Black.”
Andrade Cien Almas was still bullying Ho Ho Lun after their match last week, but Oney Lorcan stepped in. They’ll fight next week. Hopefully this will have the length of their Osaka match and the intensity of their Winter Park match.
Bobby Roode def. Kassius Ohno {NXT Championship Match}
So Ohno is a lot heavier than he was when he was fired from WWE last time around for being too heavy. I guess the body thing isn’t an issue anymore. This was probably five minutes longer than they needed to make the point they were making, but I’m glad it went as long as it did for the sake of the title and the TV show, if that makes sense. It might night: What I mean is is that even if the match isn’t great, it’s good that there are long title matches on television from time to time. These heavyweight brawls from Roode make me like what they’re doing with the title more than anything that happened with the belt in the last year, even if the matches aren’t as good. ***
