Peyton Royce def. Ember Moon & Liv Morgan {Triple Threat Number One Contender’s Match}
Way too much lazy two-in-one-out bullshit here. It was so distracting. I kept thinking about what a singles match would look like if someone got sent to the floor as much as Moon was kept on the floor here. Just awful. Kay takes a 5 on the Contrived Eclipse Scale here, and then Royce pins Morgan so that Moon can still be called “undefeated.” *½

Pete Dunne def. Mark Andrews
Seems the Brits are in residence the way the cruiserweights were last year. This was great, on par with their match from the tournament if not and inch more exciting. I’d say they should do a rubber match but Dunne has dominated this little rivalry. ***½

Bobby Roode def. No Way Jose
Solid enough heavyweight battle to give Roode his first boost as champion. Not exciting, but it wasn’t boring which is what I was very worried Roode’s entire run would be. Also, it capped off almost 30 minutes on bell-to-bell action on this episode. Feels like we’re getting back into a groove. After the match, Roode keeps attacking Jose’s leg, which feels out of character, actually. Kassius Ohno makes the save. Roode doesn’t know who Ohno is, which makes sense since he’s been gone for over three years. Ohno fills him in, and says he’s coming for the title.Roode says Ohno can have a match right now, then attacks his leg. Ohno fights back and throws a shoe at Roode. That’s fun. It was weird because a referee came out but a match never started. Why? Let’s see if they address it next week. **¾
