NXT 377

February 8, 2017 – Winter Park, Florida

Nigel McGuinness has replaced Corey Graves on commentary.

Killian Dain & Alexander Wolfe def. Gurv Sihra & Harv Sihra
I don’t review squashes, but this was all Dain and I’m not sure why it was a tag match at all. After the match, Nikki Cross flips out demanding a rematch with Asuka. Eric Young still wants Dillinger to join SAnitY. Later, SAnitY attacks Dillinger during a backstage promo. Roderick Strong and No Way Jose make the save to set up the main event tag match. N/A

Liv Morgan def. Billie Kay
Morgan’s got a couple fun tricks in her arsenal, and I hope she starts executing them more efficiently. Speaking of execution, the finish was really poorly (and slowly) executed. I’m so out on Kay. *

Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson def. Tucker Knight & Otis Dozovic
I don’t care for Dawson using a DDT as his smaller match finisher, but I do like everything he does on the apron while Wilder is in trouble. Heavy Machinery tossing Wilder from one bearhug to another is also great. I wish this was longer. Please give me a longer one. After the match, the Revival touts their Tag Team of the Year award and challenge the Authors of Pain for a match at Takeover: Orlando. The Authors come out and the Revival retreats so that they can come around and sneak attack the big guys. **½

Bobby Roode comes out to celebrate his title win. He says nothing surprising and nobody interrupts him. So what was this for?

Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe & Eric Young def. No Way Jose, Roderick Strong & Tye Dillinger
This was some fun, overbooked nonsense that went from zero to 100 from the feeling out process to the final stretch. For a six’ish-minute main event, that’s probably the best you can hope for. ***
