William Regal announces that the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will return next week.
Tye Dillinger def. Angelo Dawkins
Dawkins got nothing here. Let’s give Dillinger someone to focus on now. As if on cue, Bobby Roode comes out and asks Dillinger to be his partner in the Dusty Classic. The crowd gives them a tag team name before Dillinger can answer (Glorious 10, though I think Perfectly Glorious is more fun and Roode agrees). Dillinger is in. *½
Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson nc. Gabriel Ealy & Uriel Ealy
The match never starts because Samoa Joe rushes in and attacks the Ealy Brothers beforehand. The Revival is happy to give the big man his space.
Ember Moon def. Mandy Rose
This match was surprisingly fine, but the angle here, with Rose telling Moon that she could never look like her, is problematic no matter how you try to spin it. Rose did a slightly better job of getting into position for the Eclipse than others have before, but it’s still a stupid move. **
Akam & Rezar def. Jesus Yurnet & Jonathan Cruz
I don’t review squashes. N/A
William Regal doesn’t have updates about Nakamura, but he does have information about the teams that will be in the Dusty Classic. Blake & Murphy, who still aren’t getting along, want to be in the tournament. Regal doesn’t have time for them until they sort out their issues.
Asuka def. Liv Morgan
For weeks, Morgan had been taking offense to Asuka’s assertion that she’d cleaned out the NXT women’s division. Asuka catches Morgan with an armbar within a minute and taps her out. ½*
Hideo Itami def. Lince Dorado
Itami seemed a half a step off here. They still strung together a decent match, but Itami was anything but smooth in his movements. After the match, Austin Aries runs out and attacks Itami. Itami gets his shit together and Aries runs off. **¾
