Bayley def. Alexa Bliss
My prediction from last week was spot on! Bliss is at the point where she can be led to a really good match, and that’s exactly what happened here. Really exciting match, in which Bliss beat her up and Bayley came back with the same intensity. Bayley laments that Nia Jax took her spot at the last Takeover. That brings out Jax, and the two agree to go at it again. ***½
Zack Ryder & Mojo Rawley nc. Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy
They need to figure out what they’re doing with Blake & Murphy already. This time around they start arguing with each other immediately, but before anything can happen Rhyno comes out and attacks everyone. Nobody asked for this. N/A
Next up is a really touching video hyping up next week’s Finn Balor vs. Shinsuke Nakamura match. They interview a lot of wrestlers about what the match will mean to them, and what it means to Nakamura and Balor. Triple H is also interviewed and plays up how well-known both guys were even before they got to NXT. This was really well done. I’m here for this match.
Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson def. Jason Jordan & Chad Gable {NXT Tag Team Championship 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match}
I’m here for this match too, and they made it worth my while and then some. This is the best match on NXT TV to date. Submissions gave each team their first fall, and I love that they came in quick succession when everyone was feeling tired. Then the final fall had be popping for every near-fall, even though I knew that American Alpha never won a second tag title in NXT. That’s the mark of a classic match. It wasn’t quite as good as their match at Takeover: The End, but it was definitely better than the match in Dallas. ****¼
