NXT 245

October 16, 2014 – Winter Park, Florida

Baron Corbin def. Elias Samson
I don’t review squashes. Seeing this you’d be shocked that anything ever became of Samson. N/A

Sami Zayn comes out to lament his recent losses and say he’s sick of his own performance. He’s ready to start down his road to redemption. Tyson Kidd comes out to cut the best promo of his NXT run on Zayn. Zayn: Kidd’s biggest accomplishment is Total Divas, and also his wife likes Tyler Breeze more than she likes him. Kidd: Zayn can’t win the big one and doesn’t deserve to be here. Tonight, Kidd will be a roadblock on the road to redemption. This was tremendous.

Kalisto & Sin Cara def. Buddy Murphy & Wesley Blake
More fun stuff from the Lucha Dragons, and Blake & Murphy more than held their own. Let’s get a rematch with a little more time! **¾

Mojo Rawley is taking time off because he’s injured. Welp, that sucks for him but it’s not the worst for the TV show. Why does Mojo look just off-camera during his promos? Makes him look blind.

Charlotte def. Becky Lynch
Why is the loser from last week getting a match with the champion? It was another solid job from both ladies, but to what end I ask, to what end?! **½

Apparently now the Ascension are racist, on top of being awful in the ring, telling Hideo Itami that he doesn’t belong here, but that he’ll understand when they say sayonara.

Enzo Amore & Big Cass def. Sylvester LeFort & Marcus Louis
Not much of a match, as LeFort accidentally rips off Louis’ wig, and the bald man turns on LeFort and beats the crap out of him. Enzo & Cass want another match to happen, so they call out the girl in the blue pants they say backstage to come out to wrestle Carmella. N/A

Carmella def. Blue Pants
I guess Blue Pants is the same as a red shirt because she taps out in a few seconds. ¼*

As if rehashing Kurt Angle’s wig angle from 12 years earlier isn’t bad enough (it’s not that bad), they rehash the Summer-Rae-turns-Sasha-Banks-evil angle from a year ago, with Banks turning Lynch.

Sami Zayn def. Tyson Kidd
Kidd is starting to do more little heelish things I enjoy, like poking Zayn’s eyes during the setup for the Sharpshooter. Just world’s better than last week’s main event (not that it was really a contest), and a good start for what is clearly Zayn’s run to a title shot. ***¼
