NXT 241

September 18, 2014 – Winter Park, Florida

Titus O’Neil kicks off the show. Stop trying to get FCW guys over! Bo Dallas was the last of his kind. O’Neil is going to take over NXT because NXT guys keep coming onto Raw and Smackdown. Sami Zayn (wearing a Palestinian flag shirt that caused quite the stir online) and Adrian Neville come out and bury him on the mic, but they can’t get along. Tyson Kidd joins to talk some shit too. William Regal books them in a tag team main event. This was all pretty damn bad and a baffling follow up to Takeover.

Charlotte def. Emma
Alex Riley repeatedly calls Charlotte, who debuted just over one year ago, a veteran champion. No Alex Riley, stop it, you clearly don’t know what veteran means. I was just watching a current Charlotte match and saw that she’s still using the Natural Selection and yeesh, I still hate it. This was whatever. **

Hideo Itami def. Justin Gabriel
Not much doin’ here in Itami’s debut. They kept it very simple, and the crowd didn’t get behind Itami until the match was over. After the match, the Ascension beats up Itami. Nobody makes the save. **½

Baron Corbin def. CJ Parker
This needed a rematch why? N/A

Enzo and Cass were working out at the gym when their hairdresser Carmella storms in to tell them they got her fired. They owe her, so they’re going to get her a job in NXT. I hate that I like these vignettes.

Titus O’Neil & Tyson Kidd def. Sami Zayn & Adrian Neville
This had an awesome opening stretch, a middle that aged me 5 years, and then a really dope finish. I’ll split the difference and say I was more impressed than I expected to be. The way Titus dwarfs NXT’s main eventers is a bit counterproductive, but it’ll be less of an issue when he’s in singles matches and doesn’t look like a giant in Lollipop Land. ***
