NXT 156

February 13, 2013 – Winter Park, Florida

Mike Dalton nc. Alx Keegan
The match never happens because Paige runs down to chase Summer Rae out of the ring and then bullies the wrestlers into leaving until she can get her hands on Rae. Dusty tries to remove Paige but doesn’t need to because Rae comes out to confront her and Paige goes after her. That’s two weeks in a row that Dalton has been totally emasculated. I wouldn’t make note of this but the guy gets rehabilitated later.

Corey Graves def. Alex Riley
Sigh, whatever, this was fine. You know, after a really promising start to the year, NXT has become pretty stale again. **

Summer Rae def. Paige
Is anyone going to explain why Rae, who has only ever been a ring announcer as far as we can tell, is a wrestler now? Are we to believe anyone can be a wrestler? Remember like two weeks ago when Paige was “undefeated” and unbeatable? Rae, the ring announcer, dominated her here. The commentators try to make it seem like a shoulder injury is why Paige lost, but Rae was the one who injured her! ¼*

Adrian Neville & Oliver Grey def. Erick Rowan & Luke Harper [NXT Tag Team Championship Match]
Everything from Gray rolling around on the mat to escape Harper’s elbowdrops onward was great. What’s annoying is that was 3 minutes out of a 16-minute match. If the heels can’t fill the time, don’t ask them to fill the time. At least the right team went over, though Dallas and McGillicutty probably would have been a better choice overall. **¼
