Adrian Neville & Oliver Grey def. Kassius Ohno & Leo Kruger [Semifinal Match]
Why was this so long?! If the whole goal was to advance the Ohno/Regal conflict while giving the Brits the win they could have done all this in less than half the time and I wouldn’t feel so empty inside right now. The boring power of the heels far overpowered the excitement of Neville. **
Backstage Summer Rae explains that she attacked Paige because she’s prettier than Paige but Paige gets all the attention. Okay but like, are you a wrestler now?
Conor O’Brian def. Mike Dalton
“I feel like we don’t have to do this singles push,” said a desperate man in the future watching this tragic inevitability from the past. I’ve realized an issue I have with NXT is that when people leave for whatever reason, be it injury or legal issue or permanent spot on the main roster, it’s not addressed on NXT TV. Why aren’t the Usos in the tag tournament? Why isn’t Kenneth Cameron around anymore? I ask these questions because O’Brian stealing Big E Langston’s 5-count gimmick and a squash aren’t interesting to me. Langston coming out for a dick measuring contest isn’t interesting either. N/A
In the lobby of some arena, Bo Dallas won an 8-man tournament at the Royal Rumble Fanfest to get a spot in the Rumble the next day. He went on to not win the Royal Rumble. I really dig that NXT doesn’t shy away from showing a bit of indy vibe with things like this, house show title changes, and matches at the Download Festival years later.
Backstage, Bray Wyatt congratulates Dallas on being in the Rumble, but tells him that even though he beat Luke Harper in that tournament, he’ll lose to Harper and Erick Rowan tonight. No mention of the fact that they’re brothers.
Erick Rowan & Luke Harper def. Bo Dallas & Michael McGillcutty [Semifinal Match]
This match did nothing to get my attention, and the crowd felt the same. After the match, Wyatt invites Dallas into the Wyatt Family. When Dallas refuses, Wyatt attacks him. *¾
