NXT 144

November 21, 2012 – Winter Park, Florida

Paige def. Alicia Fox
They’ve been quietly building to this one for a while. Unfortunately the match was boring, slow, and all around no good. Kind of surprised Audrey Marie didn’t factor in at all as well. Paige has no real direction. *

Big E Langston def. Camacho
Meh. I was hoping this would be a real match, but it was just another squash, this time against someone with an actual name. N/A

Meanwhile, Leo Kruger has seemingly taken out Trent Barreta, putting the main event against Kassius Ohno in jeopardy.

Bronson def. Nick Rogers
Bronson talks a lot during his matches, which really just brings to attention how quiet the crowd is during them. ½*

Luke Harper def. Mike Dalton
Wasn’t Dalton going to have a tag team run starting back in August with Jason Jordan? No? Okay back to jobber duty I guess. This was better than your average squash. **

They show a clip from RAW of CM Punk celebrating being champ for a year and also showing the Shield attacking Ryback. So Seth Rollins is a babyface on this show and a heel on Raw. And Reigns and Rollins are a team there but don’t associate here. Did this clip really need to be shown on this show?

Richie Steamboat def. Kassius Ohno
Steamboat as a “surprise” replacement for Barreta isn’t much of a surprise, but it is mighty satisfying. The match, which would turn out to be Steamboat’s last on television, was not satisfying. It didn’t feel like a blow off to this feud as all, as Ohno controlled pretty much the whole time with his boring heel offense, and Steamboat won with a fluke Sling Blade. Very disappointing. **½
