November 14, 2012 – Winter Park, Florida
Kenneth Cameron & Conor O’Brian def. Yoshi Tatsu & Percy Watson
This squash pretty much just existed so that O’Brian could show off his new haircut. ½*
Corey Graves def. Oliver Grey
Two squashes in a row. What a scintillating show. Graves is a better commentator than a wrestler. *
Big E Langston says he’s not afraid of Vicky Guerrero’s bounty, and then gets attacked by Camacho. Camacho runs away immediately, but this feels promising because it looks like Langston will finally have a real match.
Layla def. Aksana
This match was preceded by a terrible backstage segment in which Aksana was mean and Layla, the babyface, responded with nationalistic racism. TV-PG indeed. The match was trash too. This episode has been rough. ¾*
Roman Reigns def. Chase Donovan
In his second match, they’re already calling Reigns the LeBron James of wrestling. He squashed Donovan in the exact same fashion as his last match, but he might as well have taken a dump in the ring and the commentators still would have fawned over him. *
Jinder Mahal def. Bo Dallas [Number One Contender Match]
This was better than their segment together in the 4 way match, but not as good as that match as a whole. I think my problem with Mahal is that he finishes every match with the Camel Clutch, but never gets to it in any kind of creative way. Also, here and during the 4 way, Mahal reapplied the finisher after the match, risking a reversed decision and losing his title shot. How does that make sense when his primary motivation is winning the title? It’s lazy finishes and lazy writing to make him a heel, and it’s no wonder he doesn’t get over. But like I said, good enough match aside from these long-term issues. ***
