NXT 139

October 17, 2012 – Winter Park, Florida

Alex Riley def. Jinder Mahal
This was decent enough for a short match, but the fact that they’re not going to run the same angle with Riley and Mahal that they did with Richie Steamboat and Kassius Ohno seems pretty damn lazy. **¼

Trent Baretta def. Jake Carter
Not the most exciting match, but they had a solid big man vs. fast man dynamic going, and the crowd is really into Trent. **¾

Damien Sandow def. Brandon Traven
While I appreciate that they’re doing a squash-free episode, Traven was never a threat and the crowd never bought his comebacks. The Sandow gimmick is great but I’m seeing why people didn’t really take to him in the ring. **

Kassius Ohno, Conor O’Brian & Kenneth Cameron def. Richie Steamboat, Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso
This was real boring until the final minute. I had actually been pretty jazzed about both of these rivalries and this match really put a damper on my enthusiasm. **
