Jinder Mahal def. Richie Steamboat [Semifinal Match]
This was the best match yet from either guy, but damn if the Camel Clutch doesn’t make the guy tapping out to it look like a wuss. Mahal needs to make that look more devastating because it’s a joke right now. **¾
Scotty 2 Hotty def. Heath Slater
This is a result of Slater issuing an open challenge because he doesn’t want to face former stars anymore. So that didn’t really work out. Remember when Scotty had an amazing match with Dean Malenko twelve years before this? Well this wasn’t that, but it was actually pretty solid until the Worm got used as a legitimate finisher. **¼
Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso def. Connor O’Brian & Kenneth Cameron
The Usos won by disqualification when O’Brian, who presumably wasn’t legal, knocked one of the Usos to the floor. But since that’s never been used as a reason for a DQ before, the crowd chants, “I don’t get it,” and the commentator’s sound flabbergasted as well. So that’s just a disaster all around. Then the Ascension beats up the Usos after the match, which makes you wonder why they didn’t just go over. And then from there you wonder why they’d book this match since the Ascension has already defeated the Usos. This sucked. N/A
Seth Rollins def. Michael McGillicutty [Semifinal Match]
Yeah okay, this was pretty good. I just know both guys are capable of more than they gave us here. At least the right guy went over. Then Mahal attacks Rollins after the match, but Rollins gets the better of him. That strategy by Mahal to attack Rollins a week out from their match seems pretty dumb. ***
