NXT 116

May 9, 2012 – Roanoke, Virginia

Matt Striker and William Regal run down the attacks that have been happening backstage the last few weeks. Both Percy Watson and Michael McGillicutty have been cleared, but there’s new security to make sure nobody else gets hurt. That provided a loophole for Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins to get back onto the show with these new security jobs.

Maxine def. Tamina Snuka
They never give women’s singles matches over 3 minutes on this show, and they’re not insanely talented action-packers, so what’s the point? *

JTG def. Yoshi Tatsu
JTG now has real wrestling gear, having been made-over by Alicia Fox. This was alright, but really short. I will say that wrestling gear does make JTG feel like more legitimate a wrestler. *¼

Reks & Hawkins say that John Laurinaitis has said they can stop being handcuffed to each other. Meanwhile, Kaitlyn is walking with Watson. Derrick Bateman rolls up, saying that Watson can’t be trusted with all these attacks going on. Kaitlyn thinks Bateman has gotten a big head since he had a match on Smackdown. Bateman walks off. Watson goes to talk him down. Off-camera, someone has attacked Bateman. Watson is gone, but glasses without frames remain.

Percy Watson & Tyson Kidd def. Johnny Curtis & Michael McGillicutty
Another decent enough, but ultimately bland main event in NXT. After the match, Hawkins & Reks fight through Kidd and then drag Watson to the back for questioning. **
