October 19, 2011 – Mexico City, Mexico
The show starts with a tug of war capture the flag challenge… after weeks and weeks of moving away from the competition aspect of this show. This challenge is worth 15 Redemption Points, so nobody really gave a shit about this anymore. Bateman attacks O’Neil and gets disqualified. Also, Bateman now needs to find a partner to take on O’Neil and Percy Watson in the main event.
Yoshi Tatsu def. Tyler Reks
Curt Hawkins was injured last week, so Reks has to go it alone here. This was a snooze. Reks isn’t good. He and Hawkins attack after the match but the Usos make the save. *½
Kaitlyn def. Maxine
Kaitlyn cuts a brutally bad promo before the match. Luckily the crowd is ESL. Maxine can’t sell for her life, and Kaitlyn’s full nelson using her legs is so awkward looking. *
Tyson Kidd doesn’t want to be Bateman’s partner because he doesn’t like that Bateman is prioritizing Maxine over his career. Maxine is pissed that Bateman wasn’t out there for his match. JTG walks up and offers to be his partner because he doesn’t like Watson and O’Neil either. Bateman says that his life is weird, which brings me back into the pro-Bateman camp after weeks of falling out of it.
Percy Watson & Titus O’Neil def. Derrick Bateman & JTG
Jack Korpela: We almost had a handicap match here tonight.
William Regal: It still is.
Zing! This match wasn’t terrible. Importantly, Watson took a spinning neckbreaker without embarrassing himself. That’s the most interesting thing about this match. **
