Darren Young def. Conor O’Brian
Young says that Chavo Guerrero has quit on him. In truth, he’d quit WWE a few days earlier, but that isn’t explicitly stated. These guys showed more here than they have to date, with O’Brian getting intense and Young turning into a Guerrero clone. It wasn’t good, but at least it was something for a change. **
Yoshi Tatsu def. Tyson Kidd
Before the match, Tatsu and Kidd had another argument over a pandering Tatsu shrine. And then, without even trying these two put on the best match on this show maybe ever. ***¼
Titus O’Neil def. JTG
Maryse is at ringside for the match because it’s clear now that this show is about giving her something to do. The match was just a punchy-kicky excuse for Hornswoggle to hit on Maryse in his childlike way. ½*
They wrap things up by eliminating Conor O’Brian from NXT. Then Derrick Bateman and Daniel Bryan come out to make my dreams come true… I mean so Bateman can join Young and O’Neil in the finals. That’s a pretty wild audible to call, and if they’d actually ever finished this season and crowned Bateman as they clearly wanted to I think they’d have had a pretty clear racial problem on their hands. I like Bateman, but this felt a little icky.
