NXT 67

May 31, 2011 – Des Moines, Iowa

Michael Cole is replacing William Regal on commentary tonight. If any crop of rookies deserved his trash, it’s these ones, so of course Cole plays it straight. All the rookies cut promos, but that ends up being for nothing because Redemption points tonight will be given to the winner of a Tag Team Turmoil match.

Conor O’Brian & Vladimir Kozlov def. Titus O’Neil & Hornswoggle, Lucky Cannon & Tyson Kidd, Chavo Guerrero & Lucky Cannon, and Yoshi Tatsu & Byron Saxton {Tag Team Turmoil Match}
O’Neil & Hornswoggle start off against Cannon & Kidd, but it doesn’t last long as Kidd pins O’Neil after some nonsense involving Maryse. Tatsu & Saxton come out next. They last a while longer, but problems between Tatsu & Saxton lead to a big boot from Cannon on Saxton. Kozlov & O’Brian come out next, and JTG follows them out to get on commentary. After a boring stretch, Kozlov eliminates Cannon. Guerrero & Young come out last. The final stretch is a bunch of chinlocks. Most of this match was rest holds… for almost thirty minutes. This show sucks now. I miss Derrick Bateman. **

Byron Saxton gets eliminated. This was more of less the end of his wrestling career, as he never wrestled another match on WWE TV again before settling into his job as a terrible commentator.
