April 12, 2011 – Albany, New York
The show starts with Maryse choosing to stay on NXT rather than leave with Ted DiBiase. Then they do the punching bag machine challenge. Titus O’Neil wins. Dude is winning a lot. Then Lucky Cannon hits on Maryse again, so Yoshi Tatsu comes out to defend her. Cannon and Tatsu will fight in the main event.
Titus O’Neil def. Darren Young
Young rips on Hornswoggle before the match for no real reason except to get cheap heel heat. He controls in his usual boring way until O’Neil puts him away with his spinebuster. Then Young attacks again after the match. Lame. Then Chavo Guerrero stops him from attacking Hornswoggle. *
Jacob Novak def. Byron Saxton
JTG has Novak dressed up like him, which is something he promised to do last week. Novak hates it, and points out that William Regal has been saying that he’d make a better pro than JTG each week. Regal takes offense, but Novak’s promo didn’t really hate on him so the whole angle doesn’t really play. It’s clearly meant to be the precursor to Regal’s angles with Kassius Ohno and Cesaro, but this version had a lot of bugs. Oh, and the match, it’s super dull. *
Yoshi Tatsu def. Lucky Cannon
Maryse sits on commentary and describes poutine but doesn’t seem to know what it’s called. Cannon says his catchphrase over and over during the match. That’s such a jobber thing to do. Kona Reeves does it in 2018 and it’s no less annoying and just as heat-killing. That aside, this was fun when Tatsu was in control. Maryse kisses Tatsu after the match. **
