October 26, 2010 – Milwaukee, Wisconsin
The rookies come out in costumes because Halloween is coming up in a few days. Also next week there will be another elimination. There will also be the Aksana/Goldust wedding. Matt Striker thinks Lithuania is a communist country, which has never been the case for that country as an independent state. He also pervs out on every rookie. Josh Matthews points out that we don’t actually know what the contest in this segment is, but we can assume it’s a costume contest to be won by audience reaction. Kaitlyn wins the thing, dressed as Vickie Guerrero.
Naomi def. Maxine
Was someone forcing them to produce NXT for like, an overseas TV deal? Because that’s the only explanation that they’d spend the money to produce it and crap on it at the same time that I can think of. The ladies wrestle in their costumes (Naomi is Hamburger Helper and Maxine is an ice queen). It doesn’t work. Naomi takes a swipe at Cole, so that’s cool. But the match is garbage. ½*
Brie Bella def. AJ
AJ is in her Ninja Turtle costume. This was really boring, and only existed so that Nikki could pretend to be Brie at the end (without Brie’s permission) and get the win. *
Then something insane happens; on a show where the commentators bully and berate women at the direction of a person who produces the very show these women are on, WWE asks its audience to stand up to negative pieces written about how they’re callous in their programming. This company is garbage and watching this makes me feel really gross about having a WWE Network subscription.
This is followed up by a candy eating contest. Hornswoggle comes out to bother Maxine. She wins anyway. Kaitlyn starts choking so Hornswoggle gives her the heimlich and she spits the candy onto Guerrero. The commentators were careful not to say anything nasty here after their ‘we’re being bullied,” appeal. Later on, Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn flirt while Guerrero locks herself in a room freaking out.
Aksana & Goldust def. Maryse & Ted DiBiase
Goldust stole DiBiase’s Million Dollar Championship belt, so he’s here to get it back. Aksana is wrestling in her devil costume. Cole says he hopes that Goldust invites Michael Hayes to the wedding next week, which I can only assume is because (as we learned in 2018) Hayes wears the tackiest outfits to weddings. The match was boring and kind of dumb, but Aksana cutely helps Goldust keep the title in his possession after the match. *¼
