Shelton Benjamin def. Kane, Tommy Dreamer, The Miz, and John Morrison {Battle Royal}|
This was shockingly well put-together for a pointless match being used to hype five guys who have no chance to win the Royal Rumble. Kane tossed Dreamer first, and from there the match was pretty tightly choreographed and Kane was crazy over with the crowd. Benjamin got to look strong by eliminating Kane, too. **½
Jonathan Coachman was the host for the best body contest. Layla, Kelly Kelly, and Lena Yada (with a fresh new last name) were the contestants. Kelly won by audience applause so the other two ladies beat her up. You can always tell when something was produced for an audience of one.
Kofi Kingston def. David Owen
Just a squash, but it’s nice to have finally seen Kingston beat someone up on screen without cartoonish sound effects. Well, there were a couple of cartoonish sound effects provided by Kingston’s mouth. N/A
The Great Khali def. Colin Delaney
Tazz was still interviewing Delaney in a trend that existed only to make us realize that Delaney was a jobber we needed to remember. Khali won in a minute. N/A
Chavo Guerrero def. CM Punk {ECW Championship No Disqualification Match}
Edge & Guerrero were now bonded through Vickie Guerrero. The shorter run time (around 6 minutes vs. over 10) and the hot crowd made this an easier ride than their previous matches, but then Edge ran in and gave this the most unsatisfying ending possible. What a drag. Oh, and Guerrero also eliminated Punk from the Royal Rumble a few days later. There were no ECW-brand matches on that show. **½
