The Miz & John Morrison draw. Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore {WWE Tag Team Championship 15 Minutes of Fame Match}
This was under Ironman rules, which is different than what 15 Minutes of fame used to be; it used to be that if you lasted 15 minutes with the champ you earned a title shot. I guess this is expedited, but a 15-minute Ironman match is stupid on its face. This was bookended by really good action, though the actual falls (each team got one) weren’t that exciting. I’m still feeling this feud though, which makes it sad that this was the end of the feud for all intents and purposes. It also doesn’t make sense since the champs didn’t decisively beaten the challengers here. ***¼
Kofi Kingston beats up a jerk who kicked some kids’ sand castle down. That’s about enough of this.
Mark Henry def. Colin Delaney
Before the match, Tazz interviews Colin Delaney again, who was banged up and who sucked on the mic. He seemed relieved when told he didn’t have to face an ECW wrestler tonight, which made him seem like a coward on top of everything. And then he was booked against Smackdown’s Mark Henry in a squash. Kelly Kelly and Layla had a dance-off. Then the host, Lena, joined the competition and declared herself the winner. What the actual fuck was that? They cut to backstage where Shelton Benjamin said he was entering the Royal Rumble. I wish the dance off has been as short as Benjamin’s promo.
CM Punk def. Chavo Guerrero
This match wasn’t quite as boring as their last match against each other, but it wasn’t leagues better either. Guerrero got disqualified for two attempts to cheat (neither of which were successful), and Punk hit him with the GTS right after the bell. So Guerrero just looked like a goof, which obviously meant he kept getting shots at Punk. This show’s main event storytelling mechanism was broken. **¼
