The Abraham Washington Show starts the episode. Sheamus is his guest. The bad racist humor going both ways is more lame than offensive. Washington asks why Sheamus eliminated Shelton Benjamin from the battle royal after he’d already been eliminated. Sheamus says it was an eye for an eye, which is kind of cute because fellow Irishman Finlay would also say that a lot. Benjamin comes out and complains about the battle royal and about Sheamus’s bad attitude when they tagged together. They brawl after Benjamin makes fun of his red hair. That’s what set him off?
Yoshi Tatsu def. Paul Burchill
Tatsu won at 6:28 with the Saikyou High Kick. Props to Burchill for trying some new things here, like a scary diving kneedrop. Tatsu is pretty much a can’t-miss at this point. After the match, Burchill attacks Gregory Helms backstage and tells Katie Lea to stay away from him. **½
Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson def. Brandon Young & Dustin Brady
Another squash for the squash guys. Jackson pins Young with the uranage at 2:13. After the match, William Regal and Goldust have a confrontation backstage to hype a match on Superstars. N/A
Christian def. Zack Ryder {ECW Championship Match}
A lot of this was your standard fare, but the final third of the match picked things up a bit. Ryder didn’t feel like he had a real chance until the closing minutes, but then he got a couple of convincing near falls with the Rough Ryder and a bit of cheating. Christian then hit the Killswitch for the win at 10:34 (shown). After the match, Regal came out and said he considers the slate wiped clean for him to get another title shot. So Christian slapped him. ***
