Christian comes out for a chat to start the show. He compares Jack Swagger to Hollywood dorks who think they’re famous but are actually unwanted. He realizes that Swagger won’t just go away after he ruined a second Tommy Dreamer title match. He’s ready to do something about Swagger. Swagger comes out and says he screwed Dreamer twice because Christian cheated in title matches against Swagger twice. They’ll have another rematch at Extreme Rules. Tiffany comes out (why does her entrance music feature so much cowbell?) and says the quirk in the match is that Dreamer will be in it also. Swagger calls out that Dreamer’s contract expires the day before the PPV, but Tiffany says that Dreamer signed a one-day extension because of Swagger’s constant interference. But this will be Dreamer’s last chance… and it’s a hardcore match. Technically all triple threat matches are potential hardcore matches because it’s impossible to disqualify anyone in them. Dreamer dumps both guys to show how serious he is.
Vladimir Kozlov def. Russ Taylor & Joey Munos {Handicap Match}
Kozlov won in 1:39 with a chokeslam on Munos. I guess it’s more of a spinebuster, really. N/A
Dreamer and Christian’s friendship goes up in smoke, as they get into a brawl in the locker room. Finlay was a casualty of the brawl, and apparently has limited vision in his eye and can’t compete in the main event. So as punishment, Christian & Dreamer will take on Swagger & the Hart Dynasty in a handicap main event.
Evan Bourne def. Mark Henry
They couldn’t put Dreamer over Henry, but Bourne gets a win despite not being in any sort of main event angle? Granted, Bourne was more or less getting squashed, and only won by count out (at 6:44 after hitting the Meteora on the floor and jumping off of Henry’s back to get back in the ring), but the finish was cool and a win over Henry would have done a lot to make Dreamer more credible going into Extreme Rules. **¼
Jack Swagger, Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith def. Christian & Tommy Dreamer {Handicap Match}
The opening bell rang while Christian was still holding his title belt. I don’t know why that little detail bothers me so much, but it really does. This wasn’t as boring as last week’s main event, but for a match with five guys it wasn’t interesting at all either. Swagger pinned Christian in 14:59 (shown) with the gutwrench powerbomb to end this grinding marathon. Dreamer tries attacking Swagger after the match and gets hit by the Hart Attack. *¾
