May 6, 2008 – London, Ontario
Mike Adamle started the show by apologizing in the ring for walking out on the broadcast last week. He doesn’t really give answers as to why he did it and also why the hell this was taking up time on the 100th episode of this show? It was a terrible promo, though Adamle did subtly let it slip that Vince McMahon was an impossible person to work for.
Mike Knox def. Tommy Dreamer {Extreme Rules Match}
The weapons made this less boring than a typical Knox vs. Dreamer match, but it wasn’t the hardcore miracle that their extreme tag match from two years ealier was. *¾
Next up was a Kelly Kelly solo Extreme Expose. Layla tried to interrupt because this feud was neverending.
Kofi Kingston def. Matt Striker
Shelton Benjamin sat in on commentary during this match. Adamle asked him if he thought he could beat Kingston, to which Benjamin replied, “That’s like me asking you if you can make it through an entire broadcast.” Nobody called out Benjamin for being a fucking idiot and calling himself a loser. This show sucked. The match was nothing, just an excuse for Kingston to get a quick win and for Benjamin to attack him after the fact. ¾*
Colin Delaney def. Armando Estrada
The locker room cheered on Delaney before the match, so at least there was an attempt to make this feel like a big deal (Delaney won an ECW contract by virtue of beating Estrada). Estrada was jacked as all hell, so Delaney’s eventual win didn’t feel empty either. The crowd, who’d been quiet the whole match, gave a respectful pop for the win. I’m not sure why, it’s not like this storyline was ever interesting. *½
CM Punk & Kane def. Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely
This match was boring, and the commentary on it was trash, no mention of note was made of Guerrero pinning Kane last week, and no reason was given for the Miz and John Morrison being at ringside. During the match, Tazz mentioned that ECW was successful against Triple H and Mr. Kennedy the night before on Raw, so I looked it up and saw that the entire ECW roster defeated H and Kennedy in a handicap match. I don’t even care what the storyline behind that was, the complicity of the ECW babyfaces in that match is irritating as hell. **
