April 29, 2015 – Los Angeles, California
Dario Cueto reprimands the Crew for failing to make the most of the lay up he gave them last week. They lost to two losers and a girl with one leg. He motivates them by showing them his brother, Matanza. He’ll put them in the cage with him if they disappoint him again.
Fenix def. Killshot
This was a little more groovy than your run of the mill luchador vs. luchador opener, maybe because Killshot isn’t actually a luchador. I especially liked the kick exchange near the end. Fenix picked up the win with the Fire Driver at 6:00. That move is scary. ***
Dario Cueto talks to Drago in the bathroom… again. He talks to Drago as if he’s an actual dragon, which is pretty odd. Maybe it’s not that odd by LU standards. Cueto then visits Prince Puma to encourage him to move beyond his hesitation to end Drago’s career. Hernandez accosts Cueto for putting him a match against two guys who hate him tonight. Cueto makes the match a number one contender match so that Cage and King Cuerno will have motivation not to team up. Gotta love logical wrestling angles.
Argenis nc. Famous B, Ricky Mandel, and Vinny Massaro {Fatal Four Way Match}
These are all the guys that Pentagon injured. Weirdly, it’s Texano who runs in and spoils this 13 seconds in. He rages out about Shawn Daivari attacking him last week. He challenges him to come to the temple to fight him. N/A
Some random dude approaches Cueto outside named Marty the Moth Martinez. He has Aztec Pride and asks Cueto for a job. Cueto thinks he’ll get squashed if he lets him compete.
Hernandez def. Cage and King Cuerno {Number One Contender Triple Threat Match}
After a decent enough big boy battle, Martinez the Moth runs in and gets his ass handed to him. That was dumb. Hernandez then hits Cuerno with a Dominator for the win at 4:55. **½
Vampiro interviews the new Trios Champions. Ivelisse calls herself team captain and the reason they won. Son of Havoc and Angelico both think that they’re the captain. They’re still not getting along outside the ring, but they’ll fight together when they need to. Ivelisse is legitimately injured, but she’ll fight anyway.
Prince Puma def. Drago {Lucha Underground Championship vs. Career Match}
This was actually quite dope until Hernandez came in and tried to tackle Puma, but then hit Drago by mistake. Hernandez’s junky walk is so weird. Puma then hit Drago with a reluctant Vertigo for the win at 9:28. I hated that finish. I liked the story of Puma being reluctant to get a tainted win and end Drago’s career, especially because of the way Konnan was barking at him, but I really dislike how bluntly involved Hernandez got. ***¼
On his way out, Drago tells Cueto that they will meet again. Then he turns into a big ol’ fireball.
