July 15, 2021 – Newham, London
Triple H starts the show with a message hyping WALTER and Ilja Dragunov’s rematch. Then, WALTER and Dragunov have a press conference in the ring. WALTER thinks Dragunov’s outbursts of emotion have been a fraudulent show to get him back in position to win the title. Dragunov says he doesn’t respect WALTER anymore, and it’s been replaced with hate for how he changed him.
Teoman & Rohan Raja def. Ashton Smith & Oliver Carter
Smith & Carter’s new music is way too mellow for wrestling. This was fine, just fine. It may have been a touch more than fine, but I’m just not invested in anyone involved. I appreciate that there’s a storyline issue between these four, but it hasn’t really made sense week to week. Teoman trapped Carter in the crossface for the win at 8:55. **¾
A-Kid wants to wrestle Devlin in a thirty-minute Iron Man Match as soon as he returns from the injury Devlin caused. Neat. Aiofe Valkyrie isn’t afraid of Jinny. Later, they announce that Dragunov and WALTER fought backstage and WALTER injured his hand. The title match is postponed. Woof, this is a disaster. Instead, Jinny & Joseph Conners will be on the Supernova Sessions. I love Noam Dar, but that felt like a kick while I’m down based mostly on the guests.
Meiko Satomura def. Amale {NXT UK Women’s Championship Match}
As championship matches go, this was a squash. Amale got some offense in but it was mostly there to show how little it hurt Satomura. Satomura easily kicked out of Amale’s finisher and came back with kicks, including the Scorpio Rising, for the win at 7:18. Good use of squash. **¼
Tyler Bate def. Mark Coffey {NXT UK Heritage Cup Match}
The first round came and went without much of note happening. Bate frustrated Coffey in the second round and picked up the first fall with a quick pin at 1:35 of the round. Coffey came back aggressively and hit the Sliding D to pin Bate at 1:43 of the third round. That wasn’t believable at all. The fourth round moves quickly and ends with Bate and Coffey knocking their noggins. Bate hits all of his signature moves right out of the gate and wins with the Tyler Driver ‘97 at 53 seconds of the fifth round. This was disposable but amusing, much like the rest of the episode. Gallus and Mustache Mountain make nice after the match. **¾
Man, that WALTER announcement really took the wind out of my sails.
