Dynamite Kid def. Bret Hart
This was a growly Ridge Holland pick. From Prime Time Wrestling. It’s very cute that a slingshot into the corner got an instant replay. This was about a year into both guys’ WWF tenures. By today’s standards this isn’t much to watch, but it’s worth it to see Kid trip over Hart while running the ropes and falling into the bottom rope. Moments later basically during an instant replay, Kid rolls Hart up for the win at 12:28. The Hart Foundation beats up Kid after the match but Davey Boy Smith makes the save. **¾

Piper Niven def. Serena Deeb {Second Round Match}
From the Mae Young Classic. I popped so hard for the finish here. As Niven was climbing the ropes for the Big Splash, I was thinking about how bummed I was that she’d go out in the quarterfinals because she’s using up her mega-match move here. Then I was shocked that Deeb avoided it, and can’t tell you how stoked I was that Niven pulled out the win anyway. She’s incredible, and Deeb kicked ass here as well. What a fun match. Niven won in 7:10 with the Michinoku Driver ***½

The Belfast Bruiser def. Steven Regal
Mastiff picked this one. From WCW Uncensored. Finlay smacking Regal’s butler during his entrance was dope. This was exactly like every lauded Regal match; it was fun in the beginning and end when he was really laying it in, and then boring as hell for the middle ten minutes. This was about 15 years late to be given 17 minutes considering what they filled it with. Regal got disqualified at 17:33 when his friends attacked Finlay. Hard to believe WCW lasted five years after this when this was considered something great coming from them. **
