November 11, 2019 – Manchester, Greater ManchesterI’m just doing the NXT-related stuff this week. On Smackdown there weren’t any NXT wrestlers in matches, so here’s Raw.
The Kabuki Warriors defeated Becky Lynch & Charlotte in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match to start the show. The match was really long and pretty good but nowhere near great, and it ended when Shayna Baszler showed up and distracted Lynch. Asuka rolled Lynch up and that was that. Bayley also got involved, getting laid out by Baszler (which had happened on Smackdown three days earlier as well) and then laying out Lynch after Baszler bailed.
Seth Rollins def. WALTER
WALTER answered an open challenge here. On Smackdown the previous week, Imperium attacked Heavy Machinery but was chased off by other jobbers. This was pretty boring. Neither guy seemed interested in putting in much of an effort, which isn’t surprising given that at 4:28 Imperium interfered, got WALTER disqualified, and a brawl led to an eight-man tag match after some Raw folks showed up for the save. *½
Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford def. WALTER, Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel & Alexander Wolfe
This was fun, and had an energy that the singles match was missing. Imperium got to look good for most of the match, but as soon as Rollins and Owens were able to isolate Wolfe it was over for the Europeans. Rollins pinned Wolfe after hitting the Stomp at 6:41. You’d think this is four out of five of Team Raw at Survivor Series, but that would make too much sense. Nope, instead it’s Rollins, Owens, Ricochet, Randy Orton & Drew McIntyre. Screw this PPV. ***
Erik & Ivar def. Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews
The Raiders pinned Andrews in 3:06 when they hit the Viking Experience. This crowd sucked donkey dick. These four put on a nice little sprint of a squash (wherein the Welschmen got some nice offense to start) and the Manchesterians couldn’t be bothered to react. I’d be interested in seeing this match in NXT UK where they might get some time and possibly fans who care about it. **¼
Okay, so I guess the pecking order is that NXT smashes the main roster but NXT UK can’t get it done. I’m definitely putting more thought into this than WWE did. I wonder if NXT UK will have any part in Survivor Series?
