August 14, 2019 – Toronto, Ontario
As usual post-Takeover this this mostly a clip show, but there was some fresh griz here.
Tyler Breeze & Fandango def. Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler
This was a fun sprint and rejuvenating win for Breezango. They picked up the win after an assisted elbowdrop on Blake. With the tag scene in serious flux right now I wouldn’t be surprised to see Breezango be the next contenders to the Street Profits. **¾
Pete Dunne feels like he has unfinished business with Velveteen Dream, and he’s not through coming for that title. Later, Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly claim that O’Reilly wasn’t legal when he got pinned, so they’re looking for William Regal. Maybe Breezango isn’t up to bat just yet. Then we get a weird Poppy music video hyping the new, dark Io Shirai. Finally, they say they’re going to give Matt Riddle vs. Killian Dain another go next week.
Jordan Myles def. Cameron Grimes {Tournament Finals}
Sadly, I think we have to call this tournament something of a disappointment, as only the first round Angel Garza vs. Joaquin Wilde match really stood out. This match was fine, but didn’t flow in an exciting way despite a few interesting ideas being sprinkled throughout. After the match, Regal comes out and hands him his championship match contract. ***
