June 5, 2019 – Glasgow, Scotland
Primate & Wild Boar def. Saxon Huxley & Tyson T-Bone
The finish here had a good energy to it, but most of this match was punches and kicks. Huxley & T-Bone are dead in the water, but the Hunt is the more interesting team anyway. Mark Coffey & Wolfgang attack the Hunt after the match. *½
Kay Lee Ray def. Kasey Owens
This was a good deal more interesting than your average enhancement match. Owens got a chance to actually look competent, and KLR, despite telegraphing a bit of her offense, looked really good as she’s built up to get a title shot. **¼
Jinny reveals that Jazzy Gabert is working for her for pay. They’re not afraid of the alliance between Xia Brookside & Isla Dawn.
The Grizzled Young Veterans come out to the ring. They’re pissed that they have to defend the tag titles at the Download Festival. They hate the kind of music that will be playing, and they want more respect than they’re getting. Zack Gibson’s promos are always good but this didn’t really accomplish anything.
Travis Banks def. Dave Mastiff, Joe Coffey, and Jordan Devlin {Number One Contender Fatal Four Way Match}
I’ll give these guys credit, they tried a lot of things in this match. Most of those things didn’t quite land, but the effort was definitely there. Fortunately, the stories told were interesting, foremost Banks putting down his nemesis Devlin to get to WALTER. You’ve also potentially got angles brewing among the other three, and the one I’d most like to see is an antihero Devlin going up against Gallus, giving the Irish Ace a bit of a babyface makeover. ***
