This was a big week for Amsterdam Black & Ricochet, kicked off with their second shot at the Raw tag titles and their WWE Pay Per View debut.

Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson def. Amsterdam Black & Ricochet and Bobby Roode & Chad Gable {WWE Raw Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match}
The Revival won in 10:49 after hitting the Shatter Machine on Gable. After weeks of mostly the same (impressive) stuff shown off in five minute matches, I was hoping for a bit more than a few extra minutes of the same tacked on. Yeah, there were two insane spots here, but one of those was half-botched and had me thinking that Dawson might be dead. I’m biased, but the matches that Black & Ricochet are putting on in the Dusty Classic at the same time are making these matches on a bigger stage look watered down. ***½
Black & Ricochet were interviewed after the match and expressed their frustration with the loss, so on Raw they faced off against the team that has now twice cost them the titles.

Amsterdam Black & Ricochet def. Bobby Roode & Chad Gable
Black pinned Roode in 4:27 after hitting the Black Mass. It was nice to see a team get to go more or less fifty-fifty during a match with the NXT team. I’m not mad at all that Black & Ricochet have been so well protected, but I do like a more competitive outing to give their run a more diverse feel. Still, it’s time to add a real storyline to this whole jaunt. **¾
Speaking of empty storylines, over on Smackdown Live the only storyline is that there are evil tag teams and good tag teams and they don’t get along so they’ll have a big ol’ match against one another.
March 12, 2019 – Dayton, Ohio
Amsterdam Black, Ricochet, Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy nc. Cesaro, Sheamus, Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev
This match ended at 9:12 when the New Day ran in to beat everybody up. We had a wild little fracas going on here before the non-finish. On the one hand, it’s fine that this didn’t have a finish because there isn’t really a storyline here outside of showing off Smackdown’s tag teams so that the Usos could cut a promo on them all afterwards. On the other hand, I was having a lot of fun watching this and it got more time than the NXT guys usually get on TV, so the ending was a bit deflating. But then Kofi Kingston is a bigger deal than Black & Ricochet right now so what can ya do? ***
