Ricochet starts the show by saying he wants not socks, but the NXT championship. The socks thing was related to some Twitter nonsense in which people were giving Ricochet crap for wearing no-show socks. Velveteen Dream comes out and says he wants Ricochet to get in line behind him. They have a fun little exchange. Ricochet knows he can do things that Deram can’t. Dream thinks he can do anything Ricochet can do, only better. Ricochet wants him to prove it. Dream goes for a sneak attack but Ricochet cuts it off.
EC3 def. Raul Mendoza
EC3 is in the top 1% of body fat and Bumble matches. I hope that gimmick continues. I don’t review squashes. N/A
Dakota Kai def. Vanessa Borne
Borne goes for the Jeb Bush method of getting applause (though she doesn’t say please) and it works about as well for her as it did for him. The last minute of any Kai match is fun because she hits a flurry of kicks, but it’s starting to feel like a trick. After the match, Shayna Baszler comes out and attacks Borne to freak out Kai. That’s a cool twist, but is this going anywhere? Jesus Cross thinks the whole thing is hilarious. *
Hanson & Rowe def. Otis Dozovic & Tucker Knight
Oh Dozer, you’re too pure for this world. Heavy Machinery got rolled here, proving that there’s nothing good in this world. *¼
Tommaso Ciampa def. Kassius Ohno
Ohno is looking for revenge for his buddy Johnny Gargano. That works out for a while, but then Ciampa was just a little bit faster and hit his strikes early to get the win. This wasn’t awesome, outside of the very intense crowd response to Ciampa. Ciampa keeps beating on Ohno after the match. **½
