Shayna Baszler def. Dakota Kai
Mauro Ranallo calls vlogging “v-logging,” proving all the hip hop in the world doesn’t change the fact that he’s almost 50-years-old. Baszler wins this one in minutes after Kai quits following a stomp on her elbow. I don’t review squashes, but this was a great way to get Baszler over. Baszler keeps attacking after the match and Moon comes out to stop her. William Regal tells her that what she’s been doing won’t get her a title shot, so of course look for her to get a title shot because the writing on this show is super weird. N/A
Kassius Ohno def. Raul Mendoza
This was fun and very energetic, if short. Mendoza is no slouch, and Ohno is on a bit of a roll. **¾
The Velveteen Dream tells Johnny Gargano that he owes everything to him, because he missed the match against Ohno allowing Gargano to take it. It took Gargano a long time to beat Ohno, and he got lucky against Aleister Black, and he won’t beat Andrade Cien Almas. Good promo.
William Regal books the Street Profits into a match with the Authors of Pain for a tag title shot. The Street Profits are happy about it, and that makes Regal happy, and that makes me happy.
Lars Sullivan def. Lio Rush
Can we get Rush a match where he gets to do cool stuff and doesn’t have to then get squashed in two minutes? That’d be awesome. Sullivan wants to fight Killian Dain one-on-one after having such trouble against him in the four-way match two weeks ago. Then he hits an avalanche version of his finisher on Rush. Good, simple angle. *½
In the back, the Undisputed Era have taken out SAnitY. That’s fine, I wasn’t particularly interested in seeing them wrestle again. What will the main event be instead? They come to the ring to brag. Jesus Cross freaks out and tries to attack them but referees hold her back. Who is better than her? Regal comes out and says they’ll defend their titles no matter what. That brings out Roderick Strong and Amsterdam Black, who both have a bone to pick with these dudes.
Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly def. Roderick Strong & Amsterdam Black {NXT Tag Team Championship Match}
After a good but ultimately unremarkable little match, Black chases Adam Cole into the crowd, leaving Strong vulnerable to be pinned. After the match, the Undisputed Era beats the crap out of Strong and even more so to Black. Regal comes out and books Black vs. Cole in an Extreme Rules match at Takeover. ***
New year, new bonus match. This one is from PROGRESS Chapter 61.

Pete Dunne def. Joseph Conners {WWE United Kingdom Championship Match}
I’m just going to say right off the bat that based on his performance in the UK title tournament, I really don’t like Conners. And he’s wrestling in a t-shirt, and he hits Dunne (who is wrestling in his hometown tonight) with a chair before the match. I guess they don’t do count outs in PROGRESS because a lot of this match, like the last PROGRESS match I watched, is on the floor. But it seems they do do DQs because Dunne has to pull an Eddy Guerrero fake out after hitting a chair shot behind the ref’s back. This was good mostly because it was made almost entirely of Dunne imposing his will on the petulant Conners, but Conners was nice and firey here as well. There was even a near-fall off of a Pedigree from Connors that I flinched at. They screwed up by not having Connors tap to the hammerlock during which Dunne bit the half an ear Connors has left. The actual finish, which included a tombstone piledriver on the floor, was overkill that deflated the crowd. End on a peak not a valley, my dudes. ***½
